One day, Ready the robot broke down.
– Oh no! What’s wrong? Gamma asked.
– Ready has been acting strange since he met the gorilla from that VR game, said Beta.
– I agree. I’ve noticed it too, said Gamma. He often freezes and does things we don’t tell him to do.
– And do you remember a week ago? He tried to act like a gorilla and climbed our tree. After that he didn’t know how to get down. We called the fire brigade and Hyacinth had to take him down.
– Of course I remember. It’s crazy.
– Mum, we should take him to the doctor, said Beta.
– Robots don’t go to the doctor, Mum laughed.
– So where do they go?
– We’ll have to take him to an IT specialist.
– But who is an IT specialist in Gruntland?
– It’s Harry, the green pig.
– Tomorrow we’ll ask Harry to come here, decided Mum.
The next day, the pigs went to Harry. When they arrived, he asked:
– What’s happened?
– Ready is broken. Can you check him, please? He is frozen, we couldn’t bring him here.
– OK, let’s go to see him, I’ll run a test.
The pigs waited, and after a moment, Harry said:
– He’s got a virus.
– What? Where from?
– It looks like an infection from a VR game.
– Oh, no! The Gorilla infected him when he entered Gruntland.
– Did he? Interesting. How come? Harry asked.
– It’s a long story. Is it something serious?
– Yes, only a VR gorilla can heal him then. I can’t.
– It is scary! What shall we do now?
– Somebody must talk to the Gorilla. You must bring him to Gruntland and ask for help.
– Ok, we must talk to Chris, Paula and Blaze about it. They should do it.
Beta and Gamma went to the siblings and told them everything.
– Oh no! It’s terrible! We are sorry. Ready is damaged because of us. We must help you. But what if our world changes again into VR?
– We can’t be scared of this. The world will become normal again if we take the gorilla back to VR, answered Beta.
– But what if he doesn’t want to come back? Blaze asked.
– We must find a lot of bananas in VR and hide them. We will promise the gorilla if he comes back to VR, we will give him these bananas.
– Good idea! So let’s go and play VR, said Chris.
– Oh no, today is Saturday. We mustn’t play VR at the weekends, said Paula.
– We must persuade our parents to let us play, said Blaze.
– But how to do it? If we tell them the truth, they will be angry.
– Let’s go to them together and offer to water the garden if they let us play!
– Good idea! Let’s try!
The piglets talked to the parents. Modesty and Piglet were surprised, but they agreed.
– If you spend two hours in the garden, we will let you play, said Modesty.
The pigs were very happy and they called Beta and Gamma after they had watered the garden.
– We can play and meet the gorilla now. Our parents agreed. Can you join us online?
– Sure, said Gamma.
– Ready is frozen and can’t control us, said Beta and giggled.
They started to look for bananas, but they couldn’t find them.
– What shall we do now?
– Maybe we could give him VR money? Chris suggested.
– But have you got any? Paula asked.
– I have a hundred and you? Blaze said.
– We also have a hundred each! Exclaimed Beta and Gamma.
– So we can collect everything together and give it to the gorilla, said Blaze.
– Good idea! I can add eighty, said Paula.
– And I have got ninety, said Chris.
They went back to the game to find the gorilla, but they didn’t know how to summon him.
– How can we call him? Paula asked.
– We must find the secret button and drop the goggles, answered Blaze.
They started to search for the secret button.
– It isn’t there, said Paula.
– Neither here, said Blaze.
– Look, it’s this button! Chris exclaimed.
– How do you know? Paula asked.
– I read about it on the Internet. It’s black and white.
– Cool!
– Shall I press it? Chris asked.
– Take the risk! Exclaimed the pigs.
There was a flash and the VR battery went dead. The piglets didn’t notice it. A big gorilla jumped out through the goggles from the VR world.
Chris whispered to Paula:
– It isn’t the same gorilla. This one is huge!
– But why aren’t we in the game? Paula whispered back.
– I don’t know. Maybe we did something wrong, answered Chris
– Where am I? Asked the gorilla. What a strange place!
– You are in Gruntland, the real world, answered Blaze.
– What is the real world? Wait, I have heard about it. One of the gorillas was there and talked about it. How did I get here?
– We summoned you here because we need help, said Paula.
– do you need me for?
– The gorilla that entered our world has infected our robot with a virus.
– Yuck! How did he do it?
– We don’t know. Can you remove that virus? Chris asked.
– But I don’t know how. The gorilla worried.
– Don’t you? Our IT specialist, Harry, told us that only a gorilla from VR can save our robot.
– So, I am on the mission, said the gorilla and felt important. Oh, I remember now! There is a mysterious thing at the end of the maze with monsters. And with that thing we heal each other. It may heal your robot, too. I can get it, but you must pay me 300 VR coins. Are you okay with it?
– Okay, we agree, the pig said. So, you must go there, get this mysterious thing, and come back. Good luck! They shouted.
– But how do I come back to VR? The gorilla wondered.
– Paula picked up the goggles and said:
– Through this!
The pigs noticed that VR was discharged. When they plugged it in, the gorilla was sucked into the goggles and disappeared.
Wow, that was crazy! The pigs exclaimed.
After a long search the Gorilla found the magic thing that cures everything in VR.
The piglets were waiting impatiently, but they fell asleep.
At night some light was emitted from the goggles. The pigs woke up with surprise. Suddenly, from the VR, jumped out the gorilla with a round, bright, white thing.
Chris called Beta and Gamma. Blaze and Paula started talking to the gorilla. The Gorilla wanted to see Ready. So Beta and Gamma sneaked out of the house and came with Ready, who fortunately turned on, but he couldn’t speak. The gorilla said:
Lay this robot in front of me and turn it off. I will heal him. When I do it, I will vanish and come back to VR. So give me the money first.
But how? Asked Chris. We have the money in the game.
Oh, right, so after I do my job, start playing and drop the money in the pyramid. I will find it. But if you don’t do it, I will come back and change your world into VR!
Of course we will do it. You deserve a good pay, said Chris. So heal ready now, please.
The gorilla smashed the disk. There was a flash, Ready turned on, and the gorilla disappeared.
– I feel strange, said Ready. I can’t remember anything since last week….
The pigs giggled.
