On the first day of spring the weather is beautiful. Froggie and Big Eyes’ children together with Cushy and Pillowy’s children go to the river for a picnic. They have got a great cake baked by Froggie.
There is a pavement, some sand and some grass near the river. The children find a nice place and they make the picnic.
Suddenly they see a strange pig. He is wearing a very colourful, flowery jacket. He has got something on his back.
– Who is it? asks Chloe.
– Hello, I’m from Mudland, says the stranger. My name is Shiny.
– Nice to meet you. What are you doing here? asks Gamesome.
– I’m drowning a Model Winter.
– Really? Why? asks Dainty.
Don’t you know? To scare away the winter. Don’t you do it? says Shiny.
— Not anymore. Last time we felt sorry and we saved it. The spring came anyway, explained Sporty
— Really? Shiny is surprised.
— The pigs tell him all the story.
— I want to save it too, he says at the end.
The pigs invite him for the picnic. They eat together and enjoy the spring.
Later they swim in the river and play with balls because the water is quite warm.
