Dragon’s egg

It is winter. It is snowy and cold. Children in Gruntland are happy. They are playing in the snow. Koala and White Tummy’s Children – a new family in Gruntland – are on a field. They have a snowball fight.

Suddenly they find something hard and big.

– What is it? asks Smily.
– It is an egg, says Sleeping.
– Impossible! So big? shouts Nosy.
– What bird has got such big eggs? asks Chip, but no one knows the answer.
– Let’s leave it here, says Smily.
– We can’t, it will freeze. Let’s take it home, suggests Chip.
The little pigs try to lift the egg but it is very heavy. They can’t move it.
– We must leave it and bring help. Our uncle has got a truck. He can take it, says Chip.
So the piglets go home.
Suddenly they see an enormous shadow. They look up and see… a dragon!
– Aaah! they shout.

They can’t escape because the snow is too deep. The dragon lands. The pigs freeze with fear but the dragon isn’t angry. She is sad.
– Have you seen a big egg? She asks.
– Uh…, yes! Says Smily.
– Really? Where?!
– Not far from here, answers Chip.
– Is it whole?
– Yes, it is, answers Nosy.
– Whew, I am happy!
– Have you lost it? asks Sleeping.
– Yes, I dropped it. I wanted to move my eggs to a dry place.
– We wanted to take it home but it was too heavy.
– Fortunately, laughs the dragon.
The pigs and dragon go to the egg. And they find it. The dragon is very happy.

– What can I do for you? I want to thank you, says the dragon.
– I dream about flying! shouts Sleeping.
– Great idea, says Smily.
Chip and Nosy agree. So the dragon takes the piglets for a sky journey over the snowy field. It is fantastic. They are very happy!
