Belly has got a great piece of news for her kids. They are going to have friends! Hippie and Elvis have got seven children!
– We are going to visit our friends, Hippie and Elvis, tomorrow. You can make a welcome gift for their children. Have you got any idea? says Belly.
–Sure! answer the children but they don’t know what to make.
-What can we make? asks Grunting. They decide to search the house to see what they can use.
They find different things – old clothes, screws, tops, sticks, matches, wires etc, but still don’t know what to make.
Suddenly Grunting trips and a button of her skirt falls off. It rolls under the wardrobe. Grunting wants to get it, but she can’t.
– Mum, I haven’t got a button! she cries.
–Don’t worry, we have got plenty of buttons, says Belly and shows them a big box.
-Wow, shout the children. So many buttons!
-I know! shouts Gruntie, we can make button dolls for the kids!
-Button dolls?! shout the children.
– Yes, look! She takes a wire, some buttons and makes the head and the body of a pig.
So the children start making button dolls. They use buttons, wires and tools.
After some time the dolls are ready.
Next day all the family goes to see the new citizens of Gruntland. Their names are Beauty, Elvy, Trixy, Imp, Squirly, Recy and Groom. There are three girls and four boys in Hippie and Elvis’s family.
The children give them the dolls and have fun together. They are very happy they have got the new friends.
